We get asked a TONNE of questions every day both online and in store, so we thought we would compile a collection of the most popular questions that we get asked, and some helpful answers to help you along your way with your vaping journey!

Q: I've got this battery that came with my high-powered torch, is it safe to use this in my vaporizer?
A: No generally not, the output on the batteries intended for use in a torch is much much lower than that of a vaporizer battery. If that battery were to be used in a vaporizer there is a high risk that the battery may vent or explode due to overdrawing the batteries output current. Best to use the proper battery suited to your device.

Q: Do you guys sell nicotine?
A: Unfortunately, in Australia at this point, it is illegal to sell products containing liquid nicotine. As it has not been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Association of Australia, it is currently classified as a schedule 7 poison.
We do however have an absolutely MASSIVE range of delicious e-liquids that you can add nicotine to personally if you choose to do so.

Q: Can e-cigarettes help me quit smoking?
A: “’ E-cigarettes were more effective for smoking cessation than nicotine-replacement therapy’ and ‘provided greater satisfaction and rated as more helpful to refrain from smoking that nicotine replacement products’” Prof Peter Hajek. Q: Are E-cigarettes less harmful than smoking?
A: “’ Although not risk-free, e-cigarettes are much less harmful than smoking – at least 95%. With the risk of cancer calculated to be less than 1%’” Public Health England. Key questions and findings from our e-cigarette evidence update.

Q: Will switching to vaping reduce exposure to toxins and carcinogens?
A: “’ there is conclusive evidence that completely substituting e-cigarettes for combustible tobacco cigarettes reduces users’ exposure to numerous toxicants and carcinogens present in combustible tobacco cigarettes’” Conclusion 18.1 National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, US. Q: What are the long-term risks of vaping?
A: “’ the hazard to health arising from long-term Vapour inhalation … is unlikely to exceed 5% of the harm from smoking tobacco”’ Nicotine without smoke – Tobacco harm reduction. UK Royal College of Physicians 2016

Q: Does vaping cause popcorn lung?
A: “no. There’s no good evidence that e-cigarettes could cause the ling condition called popcorn lung. There’s been no cases fo popcorn ling reported in people who use e-cigarettes” Cancer Research UK, 2018

Q: Is nicotine harmful?
A: “Use of nicotine alone, in the doses used by smokers, represents little if any hazard to the user” p.125 It is “the tobacco smoke that is responsible for almost all of the harm caused by smoking” p.8 Nicotine Without Smoke – Tobacco Harm Reduction. UK Royal College of Physicians 2016

Q: Is the vapour harmful to bystanders?
A: “to date, there have been no identified health risks of passive vaping to bystanders” Evidence review of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products. Public health England 2018 p.162

Q: Do vaporisers blow up?
A: Most of the stigma from vaporisers “exploding” is from the misuse of Mechanical Mods. Mechanical mods are a specific kind of vaporizer only intended for use by advanced vapers that have an in-depth knowledge of rebuilding, ohms law, and battery safety.
Other than that, as with any rechargeable device, such as mobile phones and laptops, it’s important to charge e-cigarettes with the right charger, and try not to leave it unattended while charging. Ensure that you buy from reputable suppliers and avoid generic charging equipment.

Q: What vaporizer should I start with?
A: this is probably one of the most asked questions in the industry. The simple answer is that you should start with something that is best suited to you as an individual. Vaping is not a one size fits all as there are so many different devices. We suggest having a look at our other BLOG post “MTL and DTL …. What does it mean?” and familiarizing yourself with the differences as that is the two major types of vaporizer.
